Join award-winning artist and writer Mikaela Castledine to create your own quality artist statement. A short and comprehensible artist statement is an important tool to accompany your artwork in awards, grants, websites and exhibition applications. There are long and compelling arguments that state an artwork should be able to stand on its own feet but in the real world your viewers often want to know what you are trying to say.
Over two Thursday evenings you will work with Mikaela to write and edit statements for your own projects. In week 1, Mikaela will walk you through her simple guide to building a statement and week 2, you will share your statement for edits with Mikaela and a small workshop group.
This online illustrated lecture and workshop will be hosted via Zoom Meeting. Students will need a computer or smartphone with an internet connection to participate. Please contact our Education Program Manager Ellen edpm@mundaringartscentre.com.au if you have any queries about the Zoom platform.
