Join award winning painter Drewfus Gates for this eight-part workshop on painting portraits. Working in oils from model, you'll produce four paintings over the series capturing an accurate likeness and learning how about character and composition. You'll also gain an understanding of light, reflections, colour mixing and brushwork.
Since 1982 Drewfus Gates has become one of Western Australia's best known painters working in oils, watercolours and pastels in a realist/impressionist style.
A highly respected portrait painter, Drewfus has been commissioned to paint over 80 portraits, mostly notable Australians and has won numerous awards including the Americas Cup Prize and has been a six times finalist in the Moran National Portrait Prize. You can see more of his work at gatesart.net
