Felted Bowls, Platters and Dishes with Martien Van Zuilen

  • Midland Junction Arts Centre (map)

Join celebrated textiles artist Martien van Zuilen for a full day of 3D felting. This hands-on class explores the beauty and function of felt making; creating a hand-felted bowl, platter or dish that is uniquely styled to your interest. The focus will be on working with a resist, blending colours and creating textural effects as well as ‘quality in creativity’. Give yourself a set of skills, play to your heart’s content and gain inspiration for future projects in 3-D felt. Previous felting experience is not necessary. Take home materials will be available to purchase from Martien on the day.

Martien van Zuilen is an established felt artisan and fibre artist based in Perth, Western Australia. She uses wool fibres, mixed media and collected objects to create complex felted forms, sculptural works and distinctive objects which are exhibited internationally.
