The Living Mountains

A multidisciplinary celebration of the mountainous environments of WA’s South West, Alex Boyds’ The Living Mountains uses field sketchbooks, photographs and footage recorded in the ranges themselves. Delving into the relationships between humans and terrain, Alex has been inspired by his travels to the Scottish Highlands and his recent residency in Albany. This project allows the audience to explore their relationship with mountainous environments, the mythologies that exist around them, and the modern interactions which occur at such places.
