Midland Junction Arts Centre Open Day
Sat 30 Nov | 11am to 3pm
Midland Junction Arts Centre, Corner of Cale Street and Great Eastern Hwy Midland
Celebrating the completion of a two-year heritage renovation, Midland Junction Arts Centre (MJAC) is opening its doors, inviting the public to explore the historic building; the exhibitions; historic photographs; take part in free activities and share stories of this building close to the heart of many locals.
Established in 1896, the former Midland Junction State School, now Midland Junction Arts Centre (MJAC) transformed significantly over a period of 40 years, with the addition of classrooms and alterations to accommodate its changing uses. Predominantly an educational facility, more recently MJAC has been purposed for the presentation of arts and culture. The Open Day launches the exhibition Building Fabric that takes inspiration from the architectural heritage of Midland and the fabric of history that has been contained within its built spaces.
